We are looking in N NJ (but could consider any location Westchester/CT as well) - what is most important to us:
-single family house with yard (we have large dogs) for under $500k (2+BR, 1.5+ BA)
-semi-walkable town/city atmosphere
-commute to midtown Manhattan average 45 min or less
-availability of good restaurants, nightlife, etc.
-within an hour of an airport (heavy biz travel)

Schools are not important to us (no kids), and high taxes are a concern as we've heard of people having tax monthly payments as high as their mortgage.

We're looking for any suggestions for places to look... hoping to be buying by fall.

Thanks!
