Just glancing on the surface, running away from a town because a few high school kids are reacting in their way seems to me like the tail wagging the dog.
More righteous is to just let these minor ideologies work themselves out.
Just my 2 cents.

I'm not running away from anything. I'm taking all advice into consideration when I look at the towns I'm deciding on. Not sure if you directed this at me or not...but that's my 2 cents.
As it stands now, Lawrenceville, Ewing, New Brunswick, Edison, & Piscataway are the spots I've narrowed it down to. North Brunswick is out. If I choose Edison or Piscataway, it would be from 287 on South toward the Raritan River. New Brunswick has a couple of complexes near Routes 1 & 18 that caught my attention. Lawrenceville is the favorite right now though.

if you're an NYC/NJ guy, i wouldn't be looking to live near Princeton. I know you work there, but that just doesn't have that jersey vibe you're looking for. feels exactly like the philly area down there. so what's the difference?

I'm trying to keep all my options open. Mercer County has both NYC and Philly influences, so that doesn't bother me. I have family and friends in the NYC area, close friends in the Philly area, and I work in Mercer County. Middlesex County is my other option if I want to get closer to NYC, but still have a reasonable commute to Princeton.
