I can find lots of possibilities online but would like to hear recommendations from folks here.
They all have to be licensed.
Looking for reliable, respectful of your home, neat, good communication, etc.
BTW, we have basement pipes to be abated.
Thanks!
We have a couple asbestos pipes in our basement and decided to leave them alone. From what I've read and heard asbestos really isn't harmful if you just leave it alone. Sometimes trying to remove it can actually make things worse.
I agree. We've left them alone for many years.
But from what I understand, it will make our house unsellable, should we decide to downsize.
And we'd rather not leave this problem for our son to deal with, should we stay.
Would anyone really buy a house with asbestos pipes? I know we did 35 yrs ago, but now?

Not mine. Lead paint yes, asbestos not any more. I had some asbestos tile removed when I moved in, unfortunately the I don't remember the company name, just that the owner was named Constantine. I think it cost about 2500 for two largish rooms.
(Asbestos tile in good condition is normally safe to leave in place but this stuff had become brittle and was falling apart so it had to go)
I bought a house with asbestos-insulated pipes a few years ago, but I would probably get it removed before selling.
D&S Restoration in Paterson, NJ, is most often recommended on my town's online bulletin board. I had them out for an estimate but haven't had the work done yet. The project manager who estimated the project was very helpful and thorough. I plan to use them when I do the work.
