Where's West Windsor? You can't just make up a list and not include WW, it gives away the game...

Haha. If I made it up I wouldn't have made Chatham #1. I'm not a big fan of the town. Good restaurants though, I'll give it that.

West Windsor doesn't have it's own school district. It's shared with Plainsboro and is called West Windsor-Plainsboro.

The actual translation of this comment is "these look pretty close to the majority of similar lists put out by similar publications in the past". Or perhaps "this looks like a pretty comprehensive listing of wealthy towns in NJ".

If you went to a top college in the northeast, odds are that you know people who went to a good chunk of these schools or you know people who moved to a good chunk of these towns when they got married and had kids so that their kids could go to these schools.

Yes. Is that surprising? I don't know much about Marlboro.

I found this for confirmation:Three Monmouth County High Schools Make NJ Top 20 List for 2014 Survey - Schools - Red Bank-shrewsbury, New Jersey | Patch

Well yes surprising! It was never ranked highly before then made the jump from 120 something to 8? What changed so much in two years? Besides GreatSchools.org ranks them as an 8 out of 10, not bad at all, but top 10 in the state? Something strange about this.

IMHO the rankings look pretty accurate. Anyone disagree?

I excerpted only a portion from the top.

Bergen County Academies
Union Cty. Magnet H.S.
Marine Academy of Tech. and Envir. Sciences
Communications H.S.
Princeton H.S.
Millburn H.S.
W. Windsor - Plainsboro H.S. - South
Bergen County Technical
Tenafly H.S.
W. Windsor - Plainsboro H.S. - North
Montgomery H.S.
Glen Rock H.S.
Ridgewood H.S.
Academy For Information Technology
North Star Academy C.S. of Newark
McNair Academic H.S.
Academy For Performing Arts
Westfield H.S.
Haddonfield Memorial H.S.
Summit H.S.
Ridge H.S.
Chatham H.S.
Livingston H.S.
Mountain Lakes H.S.
West Morris Mendham H.S.
Madison H.S.
Mahwah H.S.
Rumson-Fair Haven Regional H.S.
Well the left out the top four public academies in Monmouth Co, two of which are national ranked in the top 20….so seems a bit "off" to me.

Not to thread high jack but it is nice to see MCVSD having HALF of the top public academies.

Thanks for the link, I will be sharing it.

Maybe because they added some new criteria this year?
Quote:
this year’s rankings include two new factors. The SAT performance score for each school is based on the percentage of students scoring 1,550 or better on the annual tests, a benchmark the DOE says is “associated with
a high likelihood of college success.” Also, the Student Outcomes score includes “post- secondary enrollment,” a calculation of the percentage of students enrolled in a two- or four-year college at least 16 months after high school graduation.
