Most of the extras have to do with Unemployment. NJ is one of the few states where workers as well as employers pay into the system. Not that you will ever be unemployed, but NJ is one of the better places to be unemployed in. . .
Oh wait, so the person AND the job both moved to NJ (or he wouldn't be paying the NJ unemployment stuff since you get unemployment from the state you worked in, not lived in). Ignore my post about paying NYS taxes then
Yea, but if he is still working in NY, then he ends up paying NYS taxes (and gets credit from NJ). If he were in NYC, then he is saving city tax, but he will still pay almost the exact same State tax
