What is his signature achievement and is he really a straight talking politician? Is what he says only what he thinks helps him politically at that moment?

In that way he's a typical pol. But he raises fees yet doesn't call them taxes. He gets public employees to contribute more to their pensions then doesn't fund them, resulting in a lowering of our bond rating. We have stubbornly high unemployment compared to our neighbors. And AC is dying before our eyes.

But overall you're right. I'm not sure what "achievements" he thinks he's running on in 2016.

Yes, because casinos closing is Christie's fault

Even after JPMorgan took a big loss on The Revel, Christie decided to give them more tax breaks. He always finds millions for corporations somehow.

Not his fault for sure but also not his doing when the good numbers come out. Sorta of like Obama taking credit for the record stock market numbers (not sure he has).

So many things will not play well with the people who pull the strings, not the least of which are financial. And if anyone thinks the people who pull the strings are Joe Somebody sitting in front of the tv saying "Yeah, you tell 'em" to Christie's town hall meeting clips, they are in for a surprise. Christie just doesn't have the results to justify his demeanor. Just personal preference, but if the end result is I have to swallow something I don't want to, I prefer to be finessed rather than forced. At least I can grudgingly admire someone who out plays me rather than have no respect at all for someone who just rolls over me.

How does this matter to Republican primary voters, or heck even swing voters in the general election? I can see how his demeanor could make him infuriating to people who already disagree with him, but they aren't voting in a Republican primary (unless that primary is in Mississippi).

Honestly I think his physical appearance is going to be a larger problem among low-information primary voters and swing voters than anything else - probably bigger than the bridge scandal and definitely bigger than the aggressive personality.

Obviously you haven't seen Christie lately. While still a big man, no way of the weight that he was 1.5 year ago.
