But despite the secretary of state’s punishing pace—half a million miles in her Boeing 757—and the complex relationship between her and President Obama, Clinton seems clear about what she can (and can’t) accomplish, and, as Jonathan Alter reports, her friends are clear about something else: Madam Secretary is in her element."[/b]

"Hillary’s personal connection to Sarkozy helped cement the coalition. In 2010, Sarkozy had gallantly steadied her after a shoe had come off her foot as she climbed the stone steps of the Élysée Palace. (“I may not be Cinderella but you’re certainly my Prince Charming!” Hillary inscribed a photo, which sits in his office.)

"But, for Hillary Clinton, the swirling challenges of the region are likely to determine her legacy. Many diplomats remain anxious; the world they knew has been upended. Yet they also understand that the months ahead will be Hillary’s moment to help turn those ripples into a permanent tide of reform and renewal.""
Wow, get a room already! lol.

Honestly this goes for all of the Abbott districts except Union City (which unlike everyone else has used the resources effectively for their intended purpose).

When they can use the money they suck out of the rest of the state to effectively provide a decent education for the kids there or alternatively stop taking it, then they can deserve governance over their own schools. Right now they don't.

Personally despite leaning Republican and liking Christie, I hope that he fails on the national level for now so that he can stick around NJ long enough to appoint enough Supreme court judges to overturn Abbott.

The state took over 20 years ago. The players in that game are not the ones in charge now. The current people in charge of the money squandered it on crony consultants and schemes to get charter schools CEOs some prime real estate. I really don't think they deserve the chance to handle the money more than anyone in Newark. As for the schools, there were still plenty of hardworking kids who were getting good educations whose lives have been disrupted to the inept plan of the incompetent superintendent. How does a mother get her three kids to three different schools in three different sections of the city? How can a five year old be told to walk across a dangerous park early in the morning to catch a bus to the place where she'll get on another bus to go to school? This wouldn't happen in the suburbs and it's sad you think those parents and those kids don't deserve the perks of common safety and realistic logistics in getting their children educated.
