Hi,
We came across a house which is a mother daughter house and selling one part of the house.
Just wondering if it is legal to buy/sell the one portion of the house in a mother/daughter house?

more than likely not, most towns have zoning in place that won't allow 2 family homes, but everywhere is different, it doesn't hurt to ask the town officials

I don't see how they could sell part of the house unless it's been converted to a condo or it's a duplex. There may be a way to do it, but I've never heard of such a thing. You could call the town and find out more info.

Default We Have A Mother/daughter House

We have a mother/daughter that we are selling and I would never think of selling it seperately like that because of zoning. I would think that it wouldn't be allowed by the town.
