This is a TERRIBLE merge. No one moves over a lane.

287 is full of terribly designed merges. My favorite are the lanes that are supposed to double as entrance lanes and exit lanes.

Honestly you have those all over the rest of NJ like Rte 18 freeway sections and all over the United States in many places.

Yeah it's not uncommon, but it's still incredibly annoying. The Parkway and Turnpike have many problems but at least they generally have well-designated entrance/exit lanes.
