Hi!!
Long story short..
From Boston.. got a new job, chose NJ or NYC office as my top pick. Big boss said go down to Charlotte, NC for a year first and once everything is set with work I can move to NJ. (God, I dislike Charlotte..)
1 year is almost up, yay!!!!!!
I am leaning towards NJ due to real estate being much more affordable than NYC. Our office is located in Piscataway, NJ..
Now, I've been planning to buy a house for awhile now and thinking about purchasing in NJ.. anywhere 30 minutes from the office.
My question is.. how is the RE market in that area? In terms of renting the place out and/or selling? Will it be "easy"?
I can tell you, renting out a place in Boston is quite "easy" due to the influx of college students every year.. Sept 1st is probably one of the craziest days in Boston. Now, I'm thinking it's prob the same for northern NJ because of all the commuters to NYC but I want to hear from the locals.
I'm not sure if I will stick around NJ "forever" so it is an investment property per se.

On another note- What areas do you recommend?
And any builders you recommend? Ryan Homes is the only one I know..

You should change your title, Piscataway and most of the areas within 30 minutes is central jersey not north jersey. Also specify more in terms of your housing need.
