Do you think phillipsburg has the potential to become a popular area again? it's located close to Easton, Bethlehem and Allentown, all of which are growing. Where do you see Phillipsburg in 20 years?

Without a train line it's going to be about where it is now, popular with people who can afford to have a second house out in the country for weekends and locals who can't afford to move. The 90+ minute bus ride from the mall is just too much for a daily commute to New York.

Philipsburg was a gem when seven train lines went through it. Without a rail network it's just too far of a drive for anything other than Easton. Allentown and Bethlehem easily have more than enough decently priced housing to not require a 30 minute commute.

This.

A passenger rail to both NYC and PA cities would greatly benefit a lot of border towns.

Also, once Murphy finally legalizes pot these border towns have a great possibility of being greatly improved through the sales from out-of-staters.

They stopped the trains due to LOW ridership.. Now lehigh valley population is booming; tons of people working in NYC live there. Call your Senator.

Where is the floods? Near the river?

How is the crime rate in downtown and along the main streets?

Never mind that... Lehigh Valley is booming because they have TWO Waffle Houses... one in Bethlehem and one in Allentown. And casinos.

I went on a road trip last week. Hit the Bethlehem Waffle House, and it was glorious. Haven’t been to one in fifteen years. Got a mountain of delicious breakfast food for me and my bro. Total bill $20.

Then we hit Mount Airy Casino. Came out $100 ahead. It was a good day.

I have a friend a in Bethlehem. THat's the only reason for me to visit. All it has is primohoagies and an ice cream shop for me. Otherwise, I would not go.

I don't think the ganja tax money would be used on infrastructure. Some state senator would probably take it. We need a yearly audit of where the tax money is going. It should be spent on infrastructure.

You’re probably right about that part. Most of the tax money will be used to shovel money into the black hole (no pun intended) of inner city schools. Murphy and associates would seemingly rather continue down that path instead of repairing, improving, and expanding the NJ Transit system.

NJ legislators can withdraw money--at will, with no accounting records--from the state treasury?
Who knew?
