One more thing. McCarter Theater in Princeton has Pride Night performances periodically. That may be a way for you to meet people.

Thanks so much for all your incredible suggestions. This is my first time to use this forum and it turns out to be so helpful.

Everything means rent+utility+possible parking charge <$2000/month.

You may have to increase your budget. Especially if you live somewhere that you'll have to pay for parking. If you choose something a little more suburban than parking will likely be free.

Our development in Central Jersey is quite large & spread out & parking is free. When we lived in Northern Jersey we were paying $200. per month for a parking spot. There was virtually no on-street parking.

Remember that utilities are your responsibility (not included in the rent.) You'll probably have PSE&G, or maybe JCP&L.

Then there's cable TV, etc. Some landlords require rental insurance, but that's inexpensive.

You'll find Central Jersey a nice area to live.

Just wanted to mention the trend over the past year (s) both nationwide and industry wide has been what' s called cord-cutting. For instance in many parts of central and northern NJ you can get about 54 channels of digital TV free using a simple antenna. Others are supplementing this with Internet based TV also. Some of the TV providers are selling monthly subscriptions to get their portion of the cord-cutting dollars. More such as HBO and Showtime, ESPN etc are supposed to add their programming very soon.

I need a ride to New Brunswick from the Philly to New Brunswick NJ on January 8th or 9th. I will pay for gas. My sense of direction isn't all that great, so a ride to share would be so appreciated. Many thanks!!
