We have a tree like that. Personally I just clean it up during sweeping. Although it is annoying, having a tree in the yard is great in a city, it stops the view from getting into the house
I don't hate trees. I've just always had neighbors who maintain their properties/trees.
All kidding aside there is no amount of maintenance your neighbor can do on the tree short of cutting it down that will stop their leaves from falling into your yard. Even if you trim every branch at your property line the wind is still going to carry leaves into your yard as they fall. Then what? I suppose maybe you could install giant fans in your yard blowing toward your neighbor's property every October and leave them running until December
Hey, I had a blind-from-birth cat. She died earlier this year, but it was fun to watch her chase moths and flies by sound. I watched her stalk, catch, and eat a moth once.
It's a minor annoyance. My neighbor has a tree on one side of the yard where the leaves fall over the fence. Takes all of 5 minutes to rake. In turn my tree on the other side of the yard drops some leaves on the other neighbor. They don't complain either because Nature.
Raking used to be FUN. First we made houses (or outlines of them) and streets with the leaves. Then we raked them into a big pile, buried foil-wrapped potatoes in them, and burned the leaves. A wonderful smell, and when they were done, you got to eat the best-tasting potatoes EVER with butter and salt (and some of the soot that invariably got on them.)

i do hate trees in the middle of properties. i dont mind them on the borders. one problem is when communities are new, the trees are small and neat. then as time goes on, they get bigger and more messy. they start covering the exteriors of the homes so all you see is tree and bits of home. in this instance, i think its obvious there isnt much the OP can do. if OP really is so desperate to do something, try to sneakily kill the tree. ultimately, when it dies, who cares? its just a tree.
