No, the state merged a bunch of non-operating districts (no schools) which also had low numbers of students into the district their students actually went to school in. Back in ~2009 I think.

Helnutta is like a backwards Southern town in the 1950s with 2 cop cars just trying to nail outsiders.

Weirdly, right on the front page of the borough website is a plea to adopt animals

Visit the Helmetta Animal Shelter and adopt a dog or cat!!!

Complete with a picture of a cute but sad-looking puppy and kitten.
