As reported on 101.5 yesterday that the DOT has mailed letters to towns who have them that it's over on Dec 16th and to pull the plug.

Since a good portion of tickets were given for safely turning right on red but NOT waiting the full 3 seconds, this is a great thing for motorists. Studies have shown that the cameras don't even make intersections safer. Just a municipal moneygrab. And towns were raking in hundreds of thousands a year per intersection.

Fantasitc, but remember who advocated for this in the legislature and question their motives and keep in in mind at the next election.

This is one of those fake "I thought it was the law" items.

The law states that you must come to a complete full stop. Nothing in the law states how many seconds you had to wait.

Here's an older item that everyone seems to have forgotten.

Some years ago, Hazlet and Marlboro banned hand held cell phones in the cars before it was a NJ State law. It was discovered a few years later that towns CANNOT regulate cars and determine their own laws. All laws and speed limits are determined by the State of NJ.

It's the same with the so-called seconds to wait at a red light camera and I'm shocked, shocked I say, that no one ever brought a class action lawsuit against the towns who just created their own law.

best news since sliced bread. these highway robbers where dishonest and many times it did NOT matter if you stopped and waited for a light or not. They would send out erroneous tax bills for us to pay.

Illegal, unconstitutional and we have diplomatic immunity being from NJ.
Actually there is a proposal on the legislative table to prohibit NJ sharing license info with other states for any automated tickets. HOPE that goes through.

You know something, it appears that the liberals talk about tolerance and how conservatives are taking away our freedoms and yet this happens under the liberals watch...and btw Bloomberg was the worse kind of liberal. One that needed to be in control and was a rino.
