Why are Woodbridge's taxes so high? Don't they have plenty of ratable areas , as in Woodbridge Mall, all the office buildings, and all the businesses on Rt 1 ? Looking at the Middlesex County Tax chart, they have the highest tax rate!

When I lived there I did not think they were any higher than other similar towns.

If someone were to look closely at their operational practices, new cars for employee use, etc you might not wonder at the 15k taxes for a 50s house with a 2nd floor add on or a mansion built on what was someone else's side yard for the past 80 years. Watch closely the streets that get plowed first and see who lives there. Room for significant improvement there....if someone were to look.

You can bet every town in Nj can have their pared back by a closer look, Woodbridge is no exception.

You can not just look at tax rate you need to also see the town ratio. If the tax rate is $10 dollars but the ration is 50% their real rate is less than someone with a tax rate of $6 at 100%.
