Federal and state investigation about a lane closure in NJ proves the hyper political intent and expensive distraction created by state and national politicians, this time by Democrats. Meanwhile the state suffers and dem pols play games, sparing no taxpayer expense.
Then chime in about CC's lack of judgement while the media fails to notice the nation burning down around them due to poor judgement resulting in far worse ethical dilemas and economic mismanagement.
NJ and the DOJ make the world laugh at the absurdity of the focus of its justice system and the self righteous electorate and politicians who wage a strategy of political revenge to fight perceived political revenge.
It involves an interstate bridge. That's just begging to have the Feds come in and dig around. Which is why I don't think Christie was directly involved; as a former US attorney he'd know that.

...or at least he was smart enough to make it appear that he didn't direct it.
Even if he is not personally indicted, he might as well concentrate on other ventures once his term as NJ governor is over, as indictments of his close underlings will end his chances of national office. It is just not believable that a truly anal, hands-on person such as him was unaware of what his assistants were doing.

But CCs anger over Sokolich not giving him an endorsement got someone to initiate the lane closures. Whether it was said internally or not, the message to create havoc was given to his minions and his nosy little buttboy in the Port Authority, Wildstein. CC might get off if there's no trail to him. But a few in his admin might be going down for the boss.
When you consider that our esteemed governor is so anal that he even wants to hand-select the people appointed to boards like the one that regulates barbers and beauticians, it is very difficult to believe that he didn't play some role in this executive-office drama. He is too wily to leave fingerprints, but that doesn't mean that he had no involvement.
At the very least, he created an atmosphere in his office that allowed his closest associates to feel that these actions would be to his liking. Think about it...Why would Ms. Kelly and others have taken these actions if they felt that this would incur his wrath?
However, prosecutions are all about proof, so I have no doubt that he will skate away with no legal penalties. As to penalties that may be imposed on his political future...that remains to be seen.
At the very least, Christie is guilty of having an ethically challenged front office. The fish rots from the head. He's also guilty of being bad at the work of governor. He excels at fundraising for the GOP and berating people, generally women.

Of course there's a reason why the state is in it's position which started years before christie came on board. It's called entitlements. The state is going broke because of it.
