I'm looking to have sewing done on a clothing-like item. I just need a hem done on a long strip of cloth.

It would be weird to try to explain what the item is to a tailor if he doesn't speak English,

Anybody know any good English speaking tailors in the Bergen County area? Especially Hackensack?

Your best bet would be go to mens wearhouse or a jc pennys , not that its a great option.Or google the tailors for bergen county and call each place till you find an english speaking person.Sadly most tailors and shops are imports of europe, south america, china, since most of the US clothing is manufactured somewhere else. You might be able to find women working from homewho can do this, Good luck!

Just go and show it to the tailor. Very little English needed to show that you want a hem sewn.
