I received a great job offer for a paralegal job from a law firm in Newark. I would like to live near a train station where parking is available to take me to Newark. I heard there are problems at Princeton Junction with Parking.

I am thinking Plainsboro, Lawrenceville. Seeking a quiet, pet-friendly 1 bedroom price range 1300 to 1400. Any suggestions? I am single, with two cats.

Quiet, sound-proofing is very important to me.

Thank you for any help, ideas or even places to avoid.

If you're working in Newark, I wouldn't suggest living in Lawrenceville or even Plainsboro. Lawrence/Lawrenceville is actually closer to the Hamilton train station than Princeton Junction. The ride from Hamilton to Newark Penn Station could be as little as 45 minutes if you get an ultra express train, to 75 minutes if you get a local train. That doesn't factor in drive and park time, which could add 15-20 minutes one way.

You're probably better off living somewhere in Edison that offers a shuttle service to MetroPark. The ride would be as little as 17 minutes or as long as 36 minutes, but most rides are between 20-30 minutes long. You'd be closer to your job and wouldn't have to worry about getting to/from the train station. Good luck!
