We are planning a family reunion at the shore. We are looking for a place to rent that is inexpensive but clean and safe. It doesn't have to be fancy either. We will have 10 adults and 6 children. Some of the other relatives have their own place there. Anyhow, we are looking for suggestions with the best rates. We'd like a place that has a kitchen. We'd like to get a couple places/rooms, not one big place. I was thinking maybe a campground with an equipped cottage would be nice?? I was looking at Holly Shores and they offer a discounted rate for Sun-Thurs which is fine by us. I looked at others as well but the cabins didn't offer a bathroom and.or a kitchenette and were the same price or more. Maybe I am missing something?? We are open to hotel rooms as a second option but must have a kitchenette with a pool. Also, condo would work. It doesn't have to be on the beach either but within 15 minutes of the boardwalk. We are planning the reunion the second week of June before peak season starts. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you! I am going to contact them. I don't see any rates listed. Do you know what the rates would be? I do see you can just rent one side for 10 people which would work fine

I would,nt send you to Wildwood,NO WAY!To much crime, drugs, lots of low-lifes there. The side streets are not to safe, just like Pacific Ave.They have a Boardwalk, and Ocean. But really its not worth it.I say Ocean City NJ is very family friendly, clean, and safe.A couple real nice Main Street USA too.A really great boardwalk, and ocean too.And lots of places to eat,for kids, and adults.Very safe and clean. Also a short drive over the 9th street bridge is Somers Point with alot of nice places to eat too.Good Luck.

We are hoping to get more response on this. It doesn't necessarily have to be Wildwood or Cape May either. We looked at Ocean City and Seaside Heights as well.

I don't know what you want from us. You seem to know what you want, it's just a matter of finding it. Google Jersey Shore rentals, or more specifically, Cape May County Rentals or just Cape May or Wildwood rentals. On many sites you can filter by # of bedrooms, bathrooms, price, etc. Then you set it up. Sometimes it's through an owner, sometimes a realtor. My family has used this before for rentals in Seaside Park, it was easy and went well.

I would not recommend Seaside Heights. Ocean City is fine.

We are just trying to find the most affordable place

I understand, but you can do that easily yourselves online. Most people don't have a list of comparisons off the top of their heads or even one place in mind, we would do the same thing you would have to in order to help you. You're better off searching yourself.

Never mind the hysteria about safety in Wildwood, common sense will afford more than enough protection. I'm a single female who's been going there by myself for a few days to a week every summer since the mid-90s (and with my family for four decades prior to that ).

What you have left out of your query is the word "motel." Motels and condos are basically your options in the Wildwoods. Barely any hotels. But there are plenty of fun midcentury motels where you could book one efficiency suite plus several motel rooms. Look on Trip Advisor for the ones that are well liked. Your family reunion will be a blast and you'll be treated well. Seaside? Ocean City? Meh. They can't touch the Wildwoods (And I don't think you want to stay in Cape May, especially if you want a kitchen—you just want to be able to make day trips there, which are a breeze from anywhere in the Wildwoods.)

Exactly. I don't know of one regular poster on here who runs a hotel or a resort at the shore. We just live in New Jersey and would have to find the same info as you do if we were going to rent a place. If you want rates, you have to call the place. How would regular people know what the rates are?
