I am new to NJ and it seems every time I find a nice house in a nice suburban area, there's some kind of flood danger. Cranston, South Plainfield, etc. Can someone please list off some nice suburban towns - low crime, where I don't have to worry about doing backstrokes in my living room one day? My GF works in Manhattan and I work near Bound Brook - so it's easier to be a little more north for her, since I'll be driving to work. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks,

Just check the flood maps, don't think in terms of towns, the geography is too uneven in NJ to say that "this town is all a risk, this one all isn't". There's houses even in Bound Brook that have no flood risk. There's houses in some of the towns that are literally on the side of the mountains that have flood risks from overflowing ravines.
