Hi,

My wife and I have 2 years left on our 3 year Bally's VIP membership. We recently moved and the nearest Bally's is about 25 minutes from us. We were wondering how we can sell our membership @ our expense & benefit to another. Thank you.

I believe if you move, and can show that you're further than a particular distance from a Bally's facility, they'll let you out of the contract. I don't know if 25 miles qualifies (I'd think it would, as most people aren't going to drive 25 miles to work out), but I'd check your contract and call Bally's before you sell the membership at a loss.

This is true. My girlfriend was suckered into a Bally's contract. She hated it. Luckily, she moved, there were no Bally's within 20 or so miles from her, so her contract was terminated.

Bally's is horrible. I have a friend who went into one just to take advantage of a free one month pass, from an ad he saw in the paper. They locked him in a room, sat him down with someone and told him they would not let him leave without signing a 3 year contract. At that point, if its me, I would have walked right out, no matter what. He's a "nice guy" so he was pressured into signing a contract.

When he told me this, we looked it up, and found out Bally's is famous for these practices....check it out, do a google search.

Since then, I cant stand Bally's.

Maybe Craigs List or Ebay? Is it transferable?

Or do a fake doctors note. But they will probably try to verify it. Month to month memberships are hard to come by. I go to Xsport Fitness in long island but thats out of the way.
