ah...kind of like saying people come back only because they can't find a decent bagel or pizza, eh?

Brian, honestly, I think you just settled in the wrong part of town. Charlotte is so vibrant, exciting, up-and-coming, full of great people, art, entertainment, big business. You simply can't deny that.
This place isn't all "Nascar and Grits", c'mon now, tell the truth.

While you're on the subject of shopping malls: South Park Mall would blow all the Paramus and Short Hills malls out of the water! (JMHO)

really? i have to check out this South Park Mall then. I was in Short Hills recently and saw no less than 3 Rolls, a few limos, and more nannies with kids than parents. it was way too over the top for me - even the stores were ALL high end. i felt like I couldn't afford to breathe the air in there.

Did you have your vehicle valeted while you were there?

While we are on the subject of malls, I always thought that the Bridgewater Commons Mall was one of the nicer malls in NJ...but then I have been known to dunk my buttered bagel into a cup of tea!

You just decribed the South Park area (and mall) of Charlotte.

In New Jersey, the Short Hills mall is probably the most high-end of all of them. But I haven't been to every single mall in Jersey, so maybe there is one even more upscale. But, IMO, Short Hills towers above Bridgewater.

by far. i haven't been to all either, but it's pretty much a fact SH is the most upscale of them all.

bridgewater is nice, and more my speed than SH. what good is the mall if you can't afford anything in it?

what is it about south park that blows SH away?

lol - no but I saw plenty of that going on! i had to stop there after a funeral in JC and was just kind of blown away by it. i hadn't been there in probably over 15 years, and, while it was upscale then, it's really ritzy now, IMHO. at least I was dressed up enough where they didn't have to throw me out!

When my wife was pregnant (12 yrs ago) we used to walk thru the SH Mall on a daily basis. It is still a nice place to "visit". Living down in Ocean County I think that I might need a green card to get back into the SH Mall.
