Hello! Searching for the right NJ town- Mountain Lakes vs Oakland vs ???... 3 young school age kids, nice community, with a 'main street' town (but not sprawling), mid-income. Good schools a must. Would like to be with access to water (lake or beach). Commute not an issue. Any advice? ??

Tell about budget and commute parameters. See also questions in the "sticky" on first page.

communte non issue, mid budget
just looking for any towns that I may have missed that are "Wow!" Great schools & town center important, not looking for city center though, ie, Morristown & Ridgewood too sprawling.
