Hi everyone,

I decided to help my sister with her apartment search. She is going to work in Fort Lee, NJ and we are wondering which neighborhood would be a good choice for her to live in terms of safety and budget. It seems Fort Lee is very expensive and out of her budget... She's in her 20s (Asian), working professional, so hopefully a town filled with young professionals will be great. She has a car, and is willing to commute, but hopes to stay within 20mins drive. She's looking at either studio or one bedroom apartment.

To sum up, is there a nice town that is safe for a single Asian female to live within 20 mins driving distance to Fort Lee? Her budget is $1,000-1,300.

Thanks in advance.

There are definitely opportunities for her in the area- Fort Lee, Edgewater, Palisades Park, Leonia, Cliffside Park etc. It all depends on what kind of living conditions she's looking for. If she is only looking at newer constructions then yes, they will be more expensive than her budget.

Her budget is tight, but there are definitely 1BR apartments in Fort Lee that she can afford. Linwood Park has a number of them, as well as Hudson Terrace, 201 N Bridge Plaza, all 1BRs near $1,300. There's even a studio in Horizon for $1,400, which is a great building and complex. MUCH BETTER to live where you work then face morning traffic in an area that is frequently very congested during the morning and evening rush.
