I found a nice Watchung Complex that had great amenities such as Basketball Court, Tennis, Pool, Indoor Garage but as I searched on duckduckgo.com found this Watchung man charged with arson in Avalon fire - New Jersey Hills: Echoes Sentinel News

Looks also the Watchung area near North Plainfield is to be questioned?
Avalon Watchung Complex have horrible reviews too, that's very unfortunate.
Watchung is wealthy and very safe, and North Plainfield is also safe.
You have nothing to worry about. Might I also recommend Bound Brook again?

Went to see a room in BoundBrook/SouthBoundBrook, Piscataway, & Warren Township (By the Great Swamp)

The latter 2 were very nice and clean!

Going to look at some places in the next 2 weeks in Bridgewater, Raritan, Bedminster, Long Hill, Stirling Way, Summit, and Watchung .. Just saw some townhouses in New Brunswick (near Rutgers) that looked like the whole community got remodeled.

We are also looking at the same areas you will be visiting. Could you please post after you visit. Also, we have had difficulty finding rentals in that area. Would you mind sharing what media you used to find rentals. Thank you

You belong in The Hills! Most of it is in Bedminster but some in Bernards Township! If you can get something for $1200 including uts in The Hills, I suggest you grab it. I have rented out many condos in that area in the last 20 yrs.. only have one 2bdrm left and I get $2200+. It's a great place to live; pool , tennis court, restaurants , Mall/movies nearby..

I agree with Retriever that you can find some great places in Somerset, hopefully within your budget too. One of the great things about Somerset, especially the side near Rte 287 is that you can find great things to do on the weekends in both New Brunswick and Somerville. Music, food, etc etc. And Princeton is not too far away either. And Rutgers is so close, there are lots of things to do both in New Brunswick and Piscataway. If you are a sports fan, you will love it. Not to mention the Somerset Patriots are always fun.

Move to Somerset - perfect for a twentysomething !!!

This condo is in a good location for what you need - near a Golf Course and walking trails too.

It is listed with a realtor so you might be able to negotiate a lower price. Good Luck!! There are a few others in this area.

Probably closer than most people suspect.
When you drive south along Rt. 27, the next town south of Franklin Twp is...Princeton!

Because Franklin has such a long north-south reach, and because the hamlet of Kingston is partially located within Franklin Twp, once you clear the southern boundaries of Kingston, you are actually in Princeton.

$1200 is a steal, I saw a 3 bEdroom townhouse complex in South Bound Brook (Canal Rd Crossing) for $2200 + utls rental
