My sister and her husband (late 50's) are looking to buy an updated townhouse with 3 bedrooms, (or 2 bedrooms with another room that could be made into a bedroom), in Passaic or Essex County. They can't go over $410K and they need it to be no more than 20 minutes away from Little Falls. Minimal stairs to bedroom would be ideal (a bedroom on 1st floor?) due to health issues.

Where should they look and are there sources other than Craigslist? If you know of a realtor who specializes in Northern NJ townhomes, that would be great.

They could try Clifton, Woodland Park, Totowa, etc. The towns are all less than 20 minutes from Little Falls, and they should be able to find something in their budget. For sources, they could try Zillow, Trulia, or Realtor.com.

West Orange has quite a few townhouses in that range. West Essex Highlands is the biggest development, there are others.

Thank you, everyone. Great suggestions.

One question about West Essex Highlands: I've heard that when it snows, road access within the complex isn't so great. Can anyone confirm that?
