Hi,
I work in somerset/new brunswick border and looking to buy a home this summer within about a 30 minute commute in an area with great schools and a relatively new home (under 5 years). From speaking to various people, my family is most interested in one of these 3 areas. wanted to know how people feel about these areas. my wife will be looking for a job in business development so proximity to companies will be an issue. thanks
All three are great choices however, Plainsboro may be a tougher commute as well as not as accessible to NYC and areas north. East Brunswick is a wonderful town a bit more developed than Warren. Both have excellent school systems and offer a 20 minute commute for you. Unfortunately for you both towns are a bit pricy so I hope you have a good budget for a home! Best of luck to you!
Warren has a really good school system compared to East Brunswick. Commuting to New Brunswick is a breeze as you are always going against traffic. Unfortunatley, Warren is a very wealthy town, and houses here don't come cheap.
East Brunswick without a doubt. East Brunswick has lots of home choices and the school systems are amazing. I am not sure about your price range but $400K could get you a decent home. East Brunswick has a lot of higher income homes as well (up to $2 Million). Warren is great too but a little more pricey.
I am a current East Brunswick resident. Don't know how big a house you are looking for but you should be able to purchase a 3 Bed Room 2.5 Bath Townhouse slightly under 400K. The property tax will be around $7K.

Correct. Four Bedrooms are the $425 - $450 Range. 3 Bedroom Ranches can be had at $350 - $450 depending on condition and colonials start around $400.
Warren is definately the better choice between those three. People move up to Warren and down to those others.
If Warren is too pricey try Martinsville in Bridgewater as it is better than either East Brunswick or Plainsboro.
Anytown in the mountains is better,no flood areas to worry about and the air is cleaner because we have no industry to pollute the air.( also no industry to help with taxes)

How about employment opportunities in these areas for my wife in business development. She does not want to commute as we have 2 young children.

A four bedroom in those areas is obtainable under $900K but not new construction.

The cheapest building lot in Warren is a minimum of 400K so the only houses being built are McMansions of 4000+ square ft. so I doubt if you will find anything less than 900k,. If you want to go older than 20-30 years these are the smaller but better built houses in Warren. I am sure you can find a nice 4 br for close to 700k plus you will be in a nicer neighborhood. Not as expensive but nicer neighbors.
