Whats the story with OceanPort Monmouth County? I dont see much mention here about it. Is this a good area for a young family? How are the taxes? It seems affordable compared to other surrounding areas. If its good what are the best sections? Any other recommendations in this area?

Thanks in advance!

I haven't lived in the area for quite some time but I always thought Oceanport to be very pretty and pricey. Downside: You are directly next to Monmouth Park so when it's race time, Rt. 36 which is the main drag in and out of Oceanport turns into a crawl.

Can't help you out with taxes but I am sure just like everything else in Monmouth County, they are probably sky-high. My dear old mum lives in a 55+ community in nearby Ocean Twp. and her taxes are $8,000 a yr. She hasn't had a kid in school for 25 years (me) and she is still socked with outrageous taxes.

Good luck and I do help someone can be more helpful to you.

Shanny

Default Oceanport

Oceanport is pretty but the home prices and taxes are high and the traffic, esp around race time, is madness on 36, Main Street, Oceanport Ave, and Broad St. Eatontown.

I'm looking to move to the country, myself. . . .
