Trying to find what the commute time would be from Westfield to Secaucus by car and train. Getting a job in Secaucus and looking for reasonable commute with great town/schools. Thanks
I just moved to WF 2 weeks ago and I commute to Secaucus. I have been leaving at 6:30am and getting to Secaucus at 7am but remember it's the summer and traffic is always lighter and I leave early. I'm sure during school season it's at least 45 mins.
Coming home has been taking me about 35-40 mins leaving Secaucus around 5pm.
I don't think the train is a good option. You'd have to change trains in Newark to get to Secaucus, then you probably need a cab or something from Secaucus Junction unless you can walk to work.
Not sure about the bus. I think car is by far the easiest.
I hope you realize you can just go to a mapping website like eeeeevil racist Google Maps and just punch in your start and end points and select drive or transit or even walking and get a decent idea on everything.
That's where I would go to find main and alternate ways of getting there. Lots of options too.
Thanks for the responses. I've checked google maps but really would love to get the input from people who make the trek daily. My goal is no more than@45 minutes for a drive commute and it sound like that's close to what it would be once the school year starts. I also didn't know how much longer (more painful) the train would be due to transfers and transits upon arrival in Secaucus.
Also what's the best route to take as it appears as if there are several options.
Any addition insight would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
