Moving to NJ (home, neighborhood, buy)

Hi all,

I've posted a couple of times, about schools in particular.

I thought I'd now go the whole hog and complete the questions below...so here goes!

Where are you coming from? UK
Why are you moving? Husband's job
Where will you be working ? If NYC, what part of NYC? Husband working in Financial District, NYC

Will you buy or rent? Rent
What is your budget ? Up to $3k max
What kind of place are you looking for ? Single family home ideally, with garden, 3 bedrooms

Will anyone (spouse, children, pets) be moving with you ? Myself, husband and 3 boys (aged 5, 3 and 9 months)
Do you need/want good public schools? Yes, definitely

Briefly describe the kind of neighborhood you'd like to live in
(examples: families with young children, young, mature, artsy, diverse, safe, close-knit, block parties, etc)

Family friendly, toddler groups available, good parks/playgrounds, arty, diverse, nice coffee shops!

List three things that are important to you in order of importance.(examples: nightlife, outdoor activities, rural/urban, safety, downtown area, charming, new construction, proximity to XYZ, family oriented, easy parking, short commute, etc)
1. Good schools
2. Family orientated
3. Commute under 1 hour
