Cut at minimum 5% of the state gov't workforce.
Eliminate dual holding offices.
Consolidate the 622 school districits into 21 (as 21 counties)
Give the people I&R
Eliminate corruption as much as possible.

How's that for a start?

Its a shame when people think that this is the one and only answer to the problem. John G we have thousands of other answers to solve the problems incurred by all the prior administrations. You only think it was the past republicans, no its everyone. Lets start with no Stem cell research, no Crhistmas tree items for Dem strongholds at 500 milliion. Have we seen the 30 percent property tax reduction PROMISED by Corzine when he was campaigning. Lets see my taxes were 10,780 when he took office. Now I am over 15,000. Well according to his PROMISE of a 30 percent reduction I should have been at 7, 865 dollars by now. Anyone have a bridge to sell me. I guess we are all idiots.

again, I whole-heartedly agree -- "home rule" is the root cause of our tax problem.

Anyone convicted of corruption. Maximum prison sentence (min 10 years) and loss of pension. While we have this now it's a joke. We need to crank this up a few notches. Starting with Corslime.
