OHH my mistake. Well then, I would agree with Somerville. More affordable, and closer to Warren Twp., than Morristown. Has enough bars and restaurants on its own to stay fresh, plus New Brunswick is not far away either.

Bridgewater is a pretty wealthy town but does not have much of a nightlife. Raritan and Manville are kinda bleh. Like Bridgewater...not much to do but also less wealthy than Bridgewater. Somerville all the way in this case. Morristown is more happening but a little bit further from Warren and more expensive rent as well.

Seems like Sommerville it is then. Now what website/tool would you recommend to look at apartments? PadMapper,Trulia,ApartmentGuide? Any others? And in general about how much can I expect to pay for a Studio or even a 1 bedroom?

Thanks!

Trulia and the real estate section of NJ.com are good choices. When looking at NJ.com real estate section be sure to select homes and apt rentals, and NOT Apartment communities in order to view as many options as available.

Since you are considering Somerville, please be sure to make sure the apt is not located in a flood zone (there are several large complexes as well as private apts located in flood zones) Do not take flood zones lightly. The area is well known for frequent bad flooding. Google for more info, or look on Youtube for "flooding, Somerville, NJ" You can check at this site https://msc.fema.gov/portal and input the apts address to see if it is in a flood zone. Note that surrounding towns such as Manville, Raritan Boro, Bound Brook, Green Brook, etc are all well known for flooding. (again search on Youtube or google to see just how bad, and how often, like this video, in Manville https://youtu.be/yZqmZFkLyOk which for obvious reasons went viral.

As far as rental prices, you should be able to find a 1bd for ~1300 that is not located within a flood zone.

Hey guys, had a few more questions/thoughts to share. So, I've currently started work & at the moment, I'm based in a hotel in Piscataway and I commute via 287 everyday. Now, I've begun my search for an apartment, however things have slightly changed in that I'm looking for a 2 bedroom/2bathroom apartment/house since I have a friend who's joining me. Our search so far has indicated that we don't really have anything meeting that criteria in Sommerville. We wanted to know what y'all thought of Highland park, New Brunswick or Piscataway itself in terms of the criteria mentioned before (things to do, relatively walkable downtown, restaurants, outdoors, commute to Warren during work hours) etc. Also, if you think we might have a better chance of finding something in a different town, please make any suggestions.

Just to clarify we're basically look for a 2bed/2bath within about 1900.
