If you're willing to drive up to Morris County, there is a store called Furnishing Solutions on Rt 10 in Morris Plains. (I believe that they receive their furniture by donations and only accept stuff in good condition; proceeds are then used by their related company, Homeless Solutions, which provides assistance with affordable housing and runs a shelter.) I've gotten a few things there and the quality/selection has been pretty good. You do have to transport the furniture yourself.
