I did that when I used to drive from North Carolina to NEPA with an infant and toddler. I might have made it in one day, but never did. Most moms and dads know where they shouldn't stop. If it doesn't look good, yes, keep driving.
Does New Jersey seem dangerous?
People everywhere think pretty awful things about NJ.
My family are heading to New York and want to overnight in New Jersey.
Coming from Maryland and not knowing much about New Jersey, can anyone tell me where is a good place to bunk down with a decent hotel. I know there are some undesirable places in NJ we should avoid, looking for something about an hour or two from Long Island, maybe not too far out of Philly. Maybe something with a kitchen to heat up the formula n stuff.
I got a couple o' young'uns who don't do too well for longer periods in a car.
Thanks
You're looking to "bunk down" and you have a couple of "young'uns". Are you coming by car or Conestoga wagon?
I haven't been back in NJ in a year or so but I am pretty sure the hotels/motels have not been taken over by the zombies just yet.
Stick to the major hotel chains and I am sure you can tie up to a hitching post around back.
Yep, in my day, we had to crawl naked 10 miles uphill everyday just to get to school! And we had the 2-55 AC in OUR car, 2 windows open 55 Miles per hour.
These darned thumbsuckers today, they don't know how good they have it!
Graci to all for your great suggestions, please keep'em coming!

Not at the Marriott. The restaurants post signs which read: NO SHIRT, NO SHOES, NO ZOMBIES.
