I did not find Peter Luger's Steak Sauce at my local supermarket. I checked.

Just make it yourself. It's nothing that great.

Peter Luger

Steaks might be great but at their prices they better be. You can find just as good and a lot cheaper. We have a similar place that has the buthcer shop and bekery attached to the restaraunt. One area has a huge large flat screen with a live feed from the kitchen area. The staff is outstanding and the food great for significantly less. It's the type of place you go to once to try.

I actually really like the peter luger experience. I don't remember the prices exactly but I don't think its very expensive when you factor in its immense popularity (annoying that they only take cash though but I cant blame them). I don't really like going to Williamsburg though. I guess I prefer it over going to manhattan.

I was there a couple months ago. What they consider to be a steak for 1 person is $49.99. A steak for 2 is $99.99...so there is no incremental discount for buying more. And of course that is just for the steak. Any side dishes are extra. I hate paying that much for food, but it was my friend's bachelor weekend and he wanted to go there. The steak was excellent, definitely one of the best I've ever had. But the restaurant itself and the atmosphere were really nothing special at all. One nice thing is that it's really easy to get to from Manhattan since you just go over the Williamsburg bridge and it's right there. I took the Path from Harrison to WTC and then got in a cab. It was basically 40 minutes door to door.

A hundred bucks for two steaks? I don't like steak that much. My husband took me to Ruth's Chris one year for our anniversary. I ordered fish. I wasn't worth $35.

OK, I'm worth more than $35. Just so we're straight on that.

the atmosphere is different from a high end steak place but I like the casual atmosphere there. It feels very comfortable.

Within the past week I have been to Shop Rite, Stop & Shop, and Kings. Nobody has the sauce.
