Give or take 15 minutes, usually give, this is accurate.

Sheesh, if you saw the question I specifically responded to, the OP asked about Bergen County within 45 minutes and I answered she would only get Lower Bergen County... as in, the usual recommendations of Ridgewood, HoHoKus, etc. with the elite schools, would be out of her commuting range.

30-35min? It would take that long taking the 1 train from Brooklyn into Manhattan. Your dream doesn't exist. Sorry

At the risk of sounding like a broken record (for those of you old enough to know what that means lol), bear in mind that Manhattan is a small island and a quarter million people in NJ are trying to get across the same river every day to get to work using the same limited number of crossings--be they bridges or tunnels or boats--as everyone else. This is why the commutes take so much longer than a person might think glancing at a map without factoring in the volume of commuters.

And don't forget to factor in all the problems and delays with NJ Transit trains....

sorry if I missed - but what is budget?

Where in NYC are you commuting to?

Also NJ schools are pretty much uniformly high performing so even an 8 district will be a very good school and send many kids to Ivy's.
