What's with the strawman argument? I've never disputed that 1k goes further in lower tax town, on contrary I stated such in my earlier post.
OP is spending X amount on rent regardless of the town he chooses. OP asked which town is better for a single dude in his 20s: the answer is hands down Montclair. The tax rate doesn't change the answer in this hypo, hence a its a nonissue, are you with me Forrest?
