Looking for a Vet with a small practice in central NJ. not too impressed with the big practices, no customer service and it feels like a revolving door with $ signs over your head. Would prefer a one vet practice. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Small, not fancy, very caring staff, reasonable charges. I am two minutes from Shrewsbury Animal Hospital, which wants $350 for a "senior cat exam", but I will drive the 15 minutes to Ticehurst instead.
Bound Brook Veterinary Clinic in Bound Brook on Union Ave. They have 3 Vets and they are all great. Great customer service and if you have an emergency while they're open they'll always take you right away. They were incredibly sympathetic when we had to put our dog down and even sent a sympathy card.
The practice does general veterinary medicine and has just one vet, Dr. BJ McNeill. I haven't been there in a while, but Dr. McNeill is also an expert in soft tissue surgery and she performed several perineal urethrostomies on my cats, with excellent results. As I remember it, the practice was quiet, yet very attentive. Sadly, Dr. McNeill's husband, Clark Dickinson, passed away in 2009. He was an orthopedic specialist who was also a great vet.
