Nice places to live? Easy to get to Highland Park from there?

Would you rather live there or Dunellen or Piscataway?

Default Raritan

Hi All,

Could someone post information about Raritan or Somerville? Is it a good location to commute to NYC? How about crime and schools? I walked around Raritan downtown and seems like a nice little Italian town. I know that Boundbrook is a flood zone, what abour Raritan? Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
D

Raritan is a nice little Italian town. The HS kids get to go to Bridgewater Raritan HS. Mostly older homes compared to Bridgewater but don't know of any flood areas in Raritan.Probably higher taxes than B'Water.
One of my favorite restaurants is Espo's on second street. Probably the best red sauce Italian restaurant in central NJ. Located in a former house in a residential area with only on street parking and the place is packed most nights.

Bridgewater is the most convenient location in all of NJ. Two interstates, 78 and 287 and route 22 pass thru Bridgewater.

Piscataway is nice, the areas around Rutgers, and close to Highland Park, try Edison, which might be a little pricer.

I am looking at a single famile 3Bed / 2 Bath house in Raritan downtown area. Any idea what the price range for such homes in Raritan?

Thanks in Advance,
