Don't like it? Don't buy it. There's a station in West Orange that consistently charges $0.50 or more over the going rate; I've never bought gas there.
I'm not sure what the problem is. The price is clearly stated on the sign, and there is a gas station right across the street selling gas for $1.79 a gallon. Anyone who gets "ripped off" at this station should just chalk it up to an important lesson learned. Always look at the price of something before you buy it.
This is no different than going into a restaurant, ordering food and eating it, only then to quibble over the price of the food when you get the bill.
Rolling my eyes at the guy ranting about how the station is "ripping off" everyone. No, they are not. The sign says $3.98. You are free to go to any of the other gas stations on Haddonfield-Berlin Road if you don't like the price. I certainly would not buy gas there. The quote about the station "going rogue" is utter nonsense of the sort the local TV stations broadcast.
I pass that station every week. I actually pulled in once without looking at the sign, but noticed the numbers on the pump. I pulled out again before the guy even came outside.
Buyer beware, I guess. It's a good learning example for my son because I point it out to him all the time.
This is just another example of local news sensationalism, looking for a story.
I should call them up and tell them that Stop and Shop is ripping people off on 12-packs of Coke because Shop Rite sells them 40 cents cheaper.
