I am new to this forum ! Can you please give me inputs about good school districts in/close to Parsippany? My husband's work location is Branchville,NJ.My main criteria are a good elementary school district,a good ( not necessarily dense) Indian community and safe location. We are looking to rent an apartment (max 1800$).

How many children? How many bedrooms are you looking for in an apartment? Not sure about rental prices in that area, but in Central Jersey $1,800. for a 2-bedroom could be hard to find.
I knew a family that moved to Sparta & were happy there. I can't speak to the racial make-up of the town. You can Google "census data" for specific towns if you wish.
Thanks for the reply! I have one kid going to 1st grade in the fall of 2016. A 2 bedroom apartment / townhouse would be good .I will check out Sparta. Thankyou !

Another idea. Where you live may also depend on how long a commute your hubby can tolerate. I'm going to assume that he's driving to work, is that right?
Go to Mapquest & key in Branchville, NJ. Look on the map for surrounding towns & check how long the commute would be for each. Mapquest travel times are always an underestimate though.
Once you have your short list of commutable towns (by your standards) than you can check out those towns.
Different people have different ideas of a tolerable commute. Some people can drive an hour or more each way & be OK with that, some don't want to drive anything near that amount every day.
Hubby may want to do a few "practice commutes" from a few different towns to his work.
I'm not very familiar with that section of NJ, but someone else may be able to comment further on town suggestions and commute times.

I'd be curious to know what rental prices are like in that area of NJ. In Central Jersey a townhouse within your stated budget would not be possible. Even a 2-bedroom within that price could be tough.
Hubby is ok to commute for an hour or so. The school district is the most important factor here. Thanks for your input! Will check it out and let you know!
If you find the rents too high in that area, you can look to Sussex County. You will hit traffic going East in the morning to Parsippany though. Also, Sussex County is not as diverse as other NJ counties but prices tend to be lower.
