Hi,

I am looking to buy a house, and have decided on a town house in Highlands. I work in NYC and wife in Brooklyn and we are expecting a baby. There are few questions that we are confused about. Please help us out.

1. Hows is the bus commute from Highlands to NYC? Is there a shuttle to Park & Ride place or we need to drive?
2. I know there are train to NYC from Montclair/South Orange/Orange, how long is that commute? And how feasible is the commute for both partners commuting?
3. Anyone living in this community with small family, how is this place for small family?

Thanks

Your post doesn't make much sense. You say you decided on a house in Highlands, but then you are asking about towns like West Orange and South Orange, neither of which is anywhere near Highlands.

West Essex Highlands is in West Orange; it's a large townhouse development bordering Essex Fells.

There is no town jitney from there to a train station. The Decamp #66R goes by Eagle Rock, I don't know if there's a stop at the Highlands entrance. You can drive to the Harrison PATH station; the New Jersey Transit stations you can drive to (Orange and Brick Church) have very limited parking with waiting lists.
