Agreed, it is better. But that part floods when it rains.

A lot of Piscataway is prone to flooding.
The raritan river is there plus in the last 10 years they've developed over wetlands. No where for the water to go anymore.

Forget about having a finished basement.
The best sump pump in the world can't handle the water you see in p-way.

Like many posters recommended, look in iselin and Edison.

This is true. I live in the birch run area, this was all wetlands once upon a time.

Default Piscataway

I grew up in the Arbor section. I wouldnt recommend certain areas within the Arbor section now as crime is getting bad, my parents moved because they were sick of cleaning up the crack viles from the sidewalk (we were direct access into plainfield).

Dunellen is nice but the area near W 4th street does tend to flood.

Pisataway has great areas and bad, like many larger towns. I lived in a few areas of the town, and while I loved my house and my neighbors in the Arbor section, the crime rate is up. I think Piscataway has a police sub-station over there now too, if I recall correctly. THe one positive thing is many of the homes over there have large yards, which is nice.

GLMLS.com is a great tool for looking and will show you normally if the home requires flood insurance.

If you go down South Ave, there are nice homes between South Ave and William street. Grant Ave, Central Ave, Michael St, etc. And this is still close to dunellen/Rt 22, etc.

Lets be clear about the Arbor section: not the whole Arbor section is bad. The part over by the Plainfield border where the police sub-station you mention is located is not the nicest but that's a full mile/ mile and a half from where Arbor begins along Washington Ave. If you're near Washington Ave, it's fine. Not the nicest part of P-way to be sure but not bad either.
