Hi I am first home buyer and looking for few properties in Piscataway neighborhood. We really like few listings near Dunllen station (around RT 671/Rock Avenue crossing W 4th St) but I am not sure about the average home prices in this area. Even I dont have enough information about neighborhood too. So can anyone please provide me some information about average price for 3+ bedroom and 2+ bath (new development) single family houses in this area? I would also like to know about neighborhood and school district information. Between we are Asian-Indian family and I work in City. So I can take train and bus from this place.

Thanks in advance -niel

Stay away from the Rock Avenue area - high crime - try not to get that close to Plainfield

Niel,

Piscataway is nice but the section you are looking in is one of the worst parts. To be fair, the worst of Piscataway is still "ok" but you can do better.

Are you set on buying new construction? If not, look elsewhere in Piscataway. You'll find good deals.

As for prices - I'd estimate mid 3's. But I'm not a realtor and don't have access to MLS. Prices are in serious flux right now so take that with a grain of salt.

Good luck.

Yes, We are looking for new constructions and to be honest we have found+like one of the property in this area. Now after you mentioning your opinion about the area, I have to reconsider my decisions. Is it that worse? The area I am talking about is right across Mabel Street and Leslie Avenue. Do you know anything about this area?

Thanks again -niel.

If you like Piscataway there are some new homes near Levgar st. that borders Dunellen. A much better area than the Arbor section where you are looking.

You might want to try Iselin - there is a huge Asian Indian population there - Iselin train station is VERY convenient to NYC

Definitely try North Edison...mainly Indian/Asian population...just under 1 hour commute to NYC via NJ Transit(Metro Park Train Station)...lot's of Indian/Asian shopping on Oak Tree Rd., and good schools for your children....if to expensive 2nd choice Iselin.

Hi All many thanks for suggestions. The reason I was looking in this area (piscatawaay/south bound brook) because I don't want to be far away from Summit/New Providence area (Union County) as my wife works there. I don't want her commute to be more than 20-30 mins. So you see, my choices are limited to 15-20 miles radius of this area. Prices of new constructions (or less than 5 yr old) in summit/new providence are huge. If you know anything around this area which will cost in mid 3g's for 3+BD, 2+BATH please let me know.
Thanks again
