Lots of people work in NJ while maintaining a fictitious residence in FL. Usually people who are in management levels who has the connections to get a company to bend the rules to allow them employment while listing residence 2000 mi away.
I thought about doing this but too many companies forbid workers having a residence or Corp listed in those no state tax states.
But if they owe taxes because they live or work here we should not allow them to lie to avoid what they owe
Clearly I was being sarcastic. The overall tone is interesting though. It is fascinating how cities, states and countries now have this attitude that it is somehow unpatriotic for people or companies to pursue their financial interest. You see it in this thread in some of the comments.
You would think cities, states and countries would try to make it financially MORE feasible to attract people. Thus my East German Wall comment. Was never meant to keep people out...was meant to keep people IN.
I do not think it is unpatriotic. I have no issue with anyone making a financial decision to lessen their tax burden except when it comes to doing so by lying.

Agreed... as does the judiciary:
"Over and over again courts have said that there is nothing sinister in so arranging one's affairs as to keep taxes as low as possible. Everybody does so, rich or poor; and all do right, for nobody owes any public duty to pay more than the law demands; taxes are enforced exactions, not voluntary contributions. To demand more in the name of morals is mere cant." Judge Learned Hand, in Comm. v. Newman, 35 AFTR 857, 159 F.2d 848 (1947).
And this is EXACTLY what the 1% would do if Bernie raised their taxes to 95%. All of their businesses would move offshore. These guys didn't get rich by being stupid.
All we have to do is close them loopholes up, and take their money before they get a chance.

You mean the money they worked for....unlike people who think like you.
