i would really appreciate the perspective of someone who has either lived or currently living in those areas. Or anyone familiar enough with either towns who would be able to give a quick rundown of why they like or dislike it.
How would you compare Nutley to Little Ferry ? Pros and cons as far as crime rate, aesthetics, walkabiliy, and things to do (restaurant, bars)?
I am looking to purchase a condo/townhouse and have narrowed my search to two properties similar price range. One is Nutley while the other is in Little Ferry.
I purchased a house in Nutley in December. No complaints thus far. I have easy access to the bus to NYC. I'm close to Rte 3, Garden State Parkway, Clifton Commons (Target, Shop n Stop, AMC Theater), Clifton Promenade (more food/retail). So far I'm very happy with the move to Nutley. No experience with the schools yet but that day will come in a few years.
Nutley is WAY nicer but it costs more too. I lived in Little Ferry and am familiar with the Nutley area. Both are close to NYC, near traffic zones (3, 46, turnpike etc) and amenities. If I was buying a house and could afford Nutley, I'd pick it hands down.
Aesthetically, Little Ferry isn't nice. The Little Ferry area of Route 46 is rundown and has a bunch of used car dealerships back to back to back to back to back (literally). It does have potential but they'd have to get rid of those businesses and fix the roads.
