Old Bridge Park and Ride (Matawan: townhomes, bus, moving to)

Hi All,
I am new to the area and am possibly moving to MillPond townhomes in Marlboro. My husband and I commute to midtown in the city and I'm wondering what my commuting options are. I know there is a 4+ year waiting list to park at the Matawan train station.

How does the bus on Route 9 work? How do I go about getting a parking spot?
