What would be the easiest and fastest way to get to Coney Island from South Amboy?

NJ Transit to Penn Station then transfer?

Is there another way, other than driving?

Thanks.

The drive there would be somewhat quick certain times of the week buy you know NYC traffique can be unpredictable.
Think otherwise you'd grab a subway down from Manhattan.

I'd fire up ole evil racist Google maps and see what they say.
If driving I'd probably come back through Manhattan toll free rather than pay the westbound toll on the Guintified Gangplank. If I had the time.

Thanks. Driving is not really an option for me, I should have said. I wanted to make sure I can take a subway I guess from Penn/NYC to Coney Island or Brooklyn w/o a very long walk to Coney Island.

captne76 - Wow, I just used Google map and driving would be great. It' so close. I just get mixed up too easy so I can't drive. Thanks though. I didn't think of using Goggle map also for transit info...I see I can take the train as I thought and then subway. Now I need to know how long the rally is and I can't get that info. anywhere.

Stillwell Avenue is the stop for Coney Island. It will be a long ride from the city, but the train will leave you right in Coney Island. Driving and parking at the Aquarium parking lot is really easy - maybe you could find someone to ride with? Here is a map for the subway...

MTA | Subway, Bus, Long Island Rail Road, Metro-North

You can use above MTA site to look at subway map, routes & notices of planned re-routing of trains.

There is also a trip planner on the site.

It'll be a long trip, so bring a book. <g>
