Hello Everyone.

We are a young family, moving from PA to NJ. I am relocating for a job in Franklin Lakes and need some advice on finding a good apartment in a 10 mile radius.

We are looking for a one bedroom apartment. My kid is 20 month old so not looking for a good school area as of yet. Safety and commute to work is our top priority.

Can anyone please suggest some good areas where we can find a good apartment at good rate (Upto $1700 for 1BED/Bath).

We are planning on leasing for short term 3-4 months initially (just want to try out and see if we like it or not).

As of yet, I found couple of apartments (Wayne & Riverdale) which offer short term lease in a range of $2400 - $3000/month of two to three months of lease period.

I think the max I can stretch is till $2000/month for short term lease.

Any advice would be highly appreciated. Thank you.

I would check in Fair Lawn. Short Term leases typically carry a hefty premium as not many places offer them and the ones that do are more geared toward executives where the company is paying the bill, they also come fully furnished. Best bet is probably c-list.
